AAC BLOCKS

Autoclaved aerated concrete is a versatile lightweight construction material and is usually used as blocks. Unslaked Lime is used in the manufacture of autoclaved aerated concrete which can be formed into blocks as well as large masonry units or insulation slabs.

Quick Lime along with other materials cement, sand, water, and aluminum powder is mixed together to make the blocks. Dolomite Lime and modified quick lime can be added to reduce excessive shrinkage or cracking in the blocks.

At Spectrum Industries, quick lime is tested, to make sure the calcium oxide (CAO) content in Lime is below 80%. & temperature lies between 55 – 60◦C.

ROAD CONSTRUCTION

Different types of limes used in construction are Quick Lime, Slaked Lime, and Dolomite Lime. Every form of lime is highly versatile and is used in different forms of construction and infrastructure. Hydrated lime/Slaked Lime is used for Soil stabilization in turn for the construction of roads, airfields, and building foundations.

Quick Lime slurry is used as mortar for masonry work and for plastering. Hydrated Lime is used as an additive in asphalt which helps to improve the property of cohesion thereby improving the quality of road surfaces, and preventing damage and accidents. Hydrated  Lime helps to increase the resistance of the asphalt to stripping and aging.

Spectrum Industries’s well equipped lab, checks lime on all parameters to make it suitable to be used in building roads and infrastructure across the nation.

IRON & STEEL

Lime, is an essential and key component in the steel industry. Limestone and lime products are used as fluxing materials in the iron and steel industry. Quick Lime is used to remove impurities (silica, phosphorus, and sulfur) in both converters and electric arc furnaces.

Dolomite Lime provides MgO to regenerate the refractory materials in the furnaces. Slaked lime is also used as a lubricant for pelletization as lime ingots. Bentonite is also another cost-effective mineral used as a binder in iron ore pelletization and also contributes undesirable amounts of silica to the finished pellets.

Spectrum Industries manufactures and processes various calcium and magnesium-based minerals as cost-effective raw materials that enables you to comply with environmental regulations.
